We caught up with Aerocool to glean a bit more information about the company, the Aero-1000 and its future plans.
bit-tech: How long has Aerocool been making PC components and peripherals?
Aerocool: The company was established in 2001
bit-tech: Aerocool generally takes a different/unique aesthetic approach to many other case manufacturers – are there any plans to change this and maybe go a similar route to In Win with very bold designs and materials?
Aerocool: We think of Aerocool as being a cool, fun, innovative and responsible company. Our slogan Be Cool, Be Aerocool best describes our company brand. We try to keep innovating with our products to appeal to PC gamers.
bit-tech: Can you tell us what your best selling case is at the moment?
Aerocool: Different regions have different preferences. In the EU the DS series and Xpredator Series are the best selling. In North America, Strike X Series is the best seller.
bit-tech: You currently cater for micro-ATX and ATX motherboards – are there any plans to offer a dedicated mini-ITX case?
Aerocool: Due to there being many mini–ITX cases in the market now, we will be looking at offering one for the forseeable future.
bit-tech: Your fan controllers are very popular – have you thought about offering more high-end models that can work with liquid cooling systems to control pumps and provide coolant temperature readouts and automatic fan control? (Like those from Lamptron and Aqua Computer)
Aerocool: We think it is a good idea. We will pass your idea to our PM.
bit-tech: We’ve seen a few enthusiasts using your Strike-X Air bench table. Are there any plans to release a new version?
Aerocool: Strike X AIR will not have new version. However, we will release a new unique product soon.
bit-tech: If you could ask our readers three things what would they be?
Aerocool:
1. What is the most important point for you in choosing a case and PSU?
2. What is your favorite Aerocool product?
3. Let us know your thoughts about our products on our
Facebook page
bit-tech: What new products do you plan on bringing to the market in 2015?
Aerocool: The most important trend in the next two years is the growth of mobile gaming. We plan to enter this field this year with a full line of mobile gaming gear.
bit-tech: The Aero-1000 PC case looks different to many of your existing cases. What did you want to achieve with the design? What inspired the design of the Aero-1000?
Aerocool: The introduction of PGS-A (A=Airflow) is aimed at addressing the critical issue that matters the most for PC users, which is the smoothness of the air flowing in and out of a PC case. By allowing smooth airflow, which will drastically improve the dissipation of heat, this will offer good PC performance.
With this in mind, the case was designed to allow maximum intake of air from the front and therefore a large mesh was designed and the air is brought in by the two fans (or a water-cooling system radiator up to 280mm) mounted behind the filter. One of the most important features that contributed to this look is the pulled-up top panel which was purposely designed to be able to fit a watercooling radiator up to 280mm without any problem.
Furthermore, the top opening was created for the hot air released from radiator to escape. The top opening is attractive as it uses a thin piece of plastic mesh with magnetic strips at all sides so that it will stay on nicely on the top panel and it is also easy to be removed and cleaned.
We'd like to thank Aerocool for sending our Aero-1000 sample and for taking the time to answer our questions. Feel free to let us know your own thoughts in the forum.
